National Rider Networks

A.I.M. ATTORNEYS FIGHTING FOR YOUR RIGHTS

Working hand-in hand with all legislative efforts throughout the country, the prolific use of the judicial system has provided an additional weapon in our arsenal to reform policy; and whether the issue be helmet laws, discrimination, harassment, access to public areas, or civil rights abuses, A.I.M. Attorneys have been at the forefront in defending bikers’ rights through Pro Bono (free) legal services to the motorcycling community. These advocates of motorcyclists’ legal rights often serve as Legal Council to their own state motorcycle rights organizations and Confederations of Clubs, and contribute hundreds of man-hours and thousands of dollars worth of free legal advice annually to promote and defend our sport and lifestyle.

A.I.M. NATIONAL DIRECTOR’S REPORT

WHAT A GREAT YEAR...........

As our network of friends and associates grows even larger, there are currently more Member Groups of the National Coalition of Motorcycles (NCOM) then ever before.

The Confederation of Clubs (C.O.C.), has expanded to over 50 confederations in 39 states and provinces. Our Legislative Task Force (LTF) of biker Senators, Representative and Lobbyists has been more effective than ever, and our Independent Shop Program (I.S.P.) now has over 4,000 shops.

We just started the new National Sport Bike Associates (NSBA) to bring those riders into the fold.

All this serves to bring unity and strength to the motorcycle community so that we can be more effective attacking problems such as new EPA standards, discrimination laws effecting handle bar height, HOV lanes, helmets, etc.

The lynch pin to these highly effective networks are the AIM attorneys. We have some of the best motorcycle activist attorneys in the country. These lawyers go out and fight for your rights on a daily basis. They are the best at getting clients more money for the injuries, property damage (motorcycles), proving clients “not guilty” on criminal offenses, and getting the police and establishments to treat bikers fairly.

AIM Attorneys have obtained court rulings that motorcyclists cannot be denied access to courthouses or fairgrounds for wearing motorcycle attire or club insignia. AIM Attorneys are working with the NCOM and the LTF to get equal access bills put through so motorcyclists cannot be denied services at hotels, bars, restaurants, etc. Just because you ride a motorcycle or look different, shouldn’t make you a second class citizen.

AIM Attorneys are working with NCOM to prevent new restrictions on EPA standards, from effectively eliminating after market biker products and even modifications.

Much of the attorney-time put in on these issues is done Pro Bono (free) because they would rather put time and money into meaningful issues than do TV commercials, etc., like other so-called biker attorneys.

As I sit here in the 2005 Attorney Conference in Las Vegas where over 40 of our best AIM Attorneys have come together from across the country, many of whom rode their bikes or trikes to get here, I watch as they exchange ideas on legal matters on how best to help bikers. Again, putting their time and effort into being the best-informed attorney to do battle for you – the motorcyclist.

Our AIM Attorneys offer over 1000 years combined legal experience that they put into the motorcyclist community rather than just take the money and run.

NATIONAL COALITION OF MOTORCYCLISTS

On January 27, 1986, an idea whose time was long over due became reality. Fourteen years ago, leaders of various motorcycle groups from across America met in Las Vegas to discuss a “coming together” and the overwhelming need for a national voice to protect our life-style and right to ride. The National Coalition of Motorcyclists (NCOM) was born.

NCOM is not another association, but rather a bringing together of existing motorcycle groups for the purpose of mutual exchange of information, legislative strategy and the combined strength to fight all that is adverse to the freedom of the road.

The goal and purpose of NCOM is to assist all motorcycle organizations and individual riders with legal, legislative and other motorcycling issues. The Coalition will not dictate to any organization, but will be available to assist NCOM member groups through such FREE services as legislative assistance, nationwide information network, public awareness programs, safety projects, biker anti-discrimination legal and legislative assistance, and other important programs and services.

The National Coalition of Motorcyclists, is now serving over a thousand rider organizations, groups, clubs and associations, is the fastest growing biker’s right voice in North America.

Designed for all rider groups, this is a united voice for freedom of choice, protection of a life style and the right to ride. It provides member organizations with free legislative information and assistance, newsletters/press releases, loan program, national public relations public awareness and a proven communications network.

Funded by the Aid To Injured Motorcyclists legal assistance program, NCOM is your voice through direct input from its member organizations, Board of Directors and National Council.
